Question: Are sex change treatments permissible?
Fiqh Rule: Sex change is not permitted in Islam, and a woman whose husband undergoes a sex change has the right to divorce him. Fiqh rules are determined by one’s assigned sex at birth and remain unchanged even after undergoing surgeries, as the change is only superficial and not genuine.
