Tunis Court of First Instance: Gender Identity Disorder is Not A Valid Reason for Legal Gender Recognition
In a recent judgement dated April 24th, 2023, the Tunis Court of First Instance declined to grant legal gender recognition to a transgender man, asserting that there was insufficient evidence of a biological medical condition and dismissing gender identity disorder as a mental illness that does not fulfil the criteria for legal gender recognition.
